Banded spectra on a 3-D stage: frequency, channel, level.
The sine stage put a specification in the space it lives in; this is the same reading for every other banded spectrum (Brandon, 2026-08-22). A random or shock specification is one curve per channel, so the third axis is the channel: frequency across, channels receding — the waterfall's own depth — level up. Alone, a specification shows every channel's requirement with its warning and abort zones on one stage; beside its measurement, every channel's comparison shows at once, with the frequency lines that went outside an abort limit shaded exactly as the 2-D comparison boxes them — one rectangle per exceeding line, its own bin wide, red to the ceiling above the upper abort, blue to the floor below the lower.
The measured half rides waterfall_arrays — the same decimation,
paging, log mapping and labels the plain waterfall uses — so the two
3-D readings cost and behave alike. The exceedances are judged at
full resolution through core.compliance.outside, the same call the
2-D shading and the compliance table use, so what is shaded here and
what is counted there cannot disagree.

The stage's numbers, before any VTK touches them.
One station per shared channel (every specification channel when nothing is measured), in the specification's order. Each station carries the specification's target and limit curves and, when measured, that channel's drawn curves (decimated exactly as the waterfall decimates) plus the full-resolution values the exceedances are judged from.

Draw the stage into a plotter.
Alone, each channel's requirement wears its own colour with its
zones; compared, the requirements step back to the specification
grey and the measured curves take the colours — the 2-D pairing
rule — with the exceedance rectangles over their own bins.
Returns the arrays dict with points added.
